Barriere RCMP are seeking information from the public regarding an attempted boat theft that left the owner with serious injuries.

Barriere RCMP are seeking information on the suspects in an attempted boat theft that left the owner with significant injuries.

On Saturday, July 6, officers responded to a call at near the Adams Lake boat launch where two men in an older model truck had tried to steal a boat.

"The owner of the boat intervened, which led to him being dragged several metres, causing serious injuries," BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said in a media release.

Though the suspects were unable to get away with the boat, the RCMP are hoping that witnesses will come forward with any information on the incident

"Given the suspect's vehicle was unique and had been parked at the Adams Lake boat launch on a busy day, we're hoping someone may have seen it," Grandy added.

The suspect truck is described as an older model of unknown make, though it's possibly a Ford, grey and blue in colour with a flat deck and wood panels on each side. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact Cpl. Kyle Camalush with the Barriere detachment 250-672-9918.
