Power has been restored to residents in Penticton.
Warming centres remain open to the public for those that need them.
UPDATE 11:15 a.m.:
Work crews are aiming to restore power within two hours to the over 5,000 impacted customers in Penticton, the City said in a press release.
The source of the issue is at the Westminster substation, although the city did not elaborate on what the nature of the issue is.
The city advised that residents check in on neighbours in the outage area, and that warming centres are currently available including at the Penticton Library and Cherry Lane.

A power outage is currently impacting just over 5,000 customers in Penticton’s downtown and north sides.
The City has said that crews are responding to the incident.
No cause is currently listed for the outage. There is not current timeline of when power is expected to be restored.
Power went out around 10:15 a.m. and there is no current estimate for when power will be restored.
Temperatures are currently sitting at around -10 C, going down to -15 with the windchill.
Warming centres are currently open for the public in Penticton at multiple locations.
Locations include the South Okanagan Events Centre, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the Community Centre from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., both of which are currently outside the outage map for impacted areas.
The Penticton Seniors’ Drop-in Centre (2965 Main Street) is also open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
