A splash pad near Skaha Lake in Penticton is closing for maintenance ahead of the Canada Day long weekend.

The city said in a press release that it wants "everyone to be able to beat the heat" but must complete maintenance in the area first.

Located at the intersection of Cypress Street and Elm Avenue, the splash pad is expected to be closed for the next "day or two," the city added on June 26.

People can use the splash pad at Lakawanna Park, near Okanagan Lake, during this time.

The splash pad near Skaha has reached the end of its lifespan and will be replaced ahead of next season, according to the city.
