People who walk along the canal pathway in Osoyoos are being advised to use caution while the town cleans up the channel.
Crews and heavy equipment will be working on about 1,000 metres in total across sections of the channel that runs alongside the path.
The work is expected to take several months, and the area will be an active work zone during that time.
The crews will be removing debris and vegetation from the channel.
