The Canada Day long weekend is here, and there's no shortage of ways to celebrate in Penticton.

Here's what's happening from June 28 to July 1:

Penticton Elvis Festival (June 27 to 30)

The Elvis Festival officially began on Wednesday, but the event continues Friday through to Sunday, as tribute performers take the stage at Okanagan Lake Park and Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

Tickets are selling fast, according to event organizers, who say the competition's finals will take place on Sunday at the convention centre at 2 p.m.

Sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises, the winner of the event will head to the prestigious "Ultimate Elvis Finals" in Memphis, Tenn. later this year.

Performances on Friday begin at 9 a.m., inside Okanagan Lake Park.

Downtown markets for the long weekend (June 29)

Celebrate the long weekend by taking in Penticton's weekly markets on Saturday.

The Farmers' Market, as well as the Downtown Community Market, are expected to bring large crowds to Main Street from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Live music at local venues (June 30)

Before the Canada Day party kicks off Monday, venues across the city on Sunday are hosting unique performers for live music.

From a Kiss tribute band at the Hub on Martin to Django's Jewels at the Dream and Will Schlackl at Cannery Brewing, there's lots to see and hear on the night of June 30.

While the performance at Cannery begins at 6 p.m., action at the Hub and Dream Cafe starts at 8 p.m.

Canada Day in the Park (July 1)

Holiday-themed festivities come to Gyro Park on Monday, with live music, face painting and arts and crafts among the featured activities.

The city's Canada Day party, organized by the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free transit and bike valet services will be available all day.

Fireworks at Okanagan Lake Park (July 1)

A fireworks show, organized by the Penticton Lakeside Resort, is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.

An exclusion zone will be set up in the water around Okanagan Lake Park to keep people safe during the show.
