A thunderstorm watch is in place for most areas of the South Okanagan.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for most portions of the South Okanagan.

Environment Canada has issued a severe weather warning for portions of B.C.'s Southern Interior in late morning on Sunday, June 30.

The warning starts east of Grand Forks, up south close to Salmon Arm, north of Osoyoos and west of Cache Creek. 

The storms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. 

Thunderstorms watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce large hail, damaging winds and torrential rainfall.
